We appreciate the support of these fine companies. Without their help NAIWBS would not be able to provide its services.

    Welcome

    Our Goal:
We will work together to help you get more customers to purchase more products, more often, at higher profit margins.

    Who We Are
We are made up of a forward looking group of Wild Bird Retail Store Owners who are committed to applying the resources (Time, Energy, Money, Skill) necessary to succeed in business. Individually we supply the Time, and the Energy, and the Money. But for us Skill is a joint effort, best provided by coming together to learn from each other and, with manufacturers and suppliers, promote the industry and our stores.

    When We Started:
The Association was founded in August 2004, by John F. Gardner, former President of The Natural Science for Youth Foundation an Association of Small Museums and Nature Centers. John is also a recognized leader in the wild bird industry since 1974, and author of several books on Wild Bird Store Operations.

    The Association Goals:

We provide our subscribers with expertise in niche business, creative marketing and incentive programs, award-winning merchandising and technology, and quality training. We are an organization with a business success focus.

The goals of the Association are simple and straightforward:

    1. To help bring more people to the hobby of backyard birding.
    2. To maximize subscribers stores' profitability and growth by:

    • Working to increase subscribers market share.
    • Engaging in activities that will attract new customers to subscribers stores.
    • Helping subscribers retain current customers.
    • Providing programs designed to get customers to purchase more products, more often, at satisfactory profit margins.
    • Developing strategic-partner relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.
    • Forming a member owned buying group.
    • Becoming a key player in the growth and development of the backyard birding industry

    How we are supported

Our support comes primarily from advertisers who believe that as wild bird stores improve their business it is good for the entire birding industry.
